With an Accelerated Shift to Online Learning, Has Your Customer Journey Shifted Too?

At Incite Creative, our role has become even more critical in creating education marketing strategies to help everyone involved — from institutions and educators to parents and students.

Colleges and universities and primary and secondary schools have made an enormous shift toward online and virtual courses. With such a quick change to how teachers teach and how students learn, there will undoubtedly be an impact on students’ success and retention, which will ultimately impact tuition revenue. As employment and income variables continue, parents will consider whether a school is a good fit or ‘worth it’ from a financial perspective.

Then there’s the fundraising aspect. A student who isn’t retained doesn’t become a graduate and thus never becomes a loyal and engaged alum and eventual donor. Although the wealthiest donors may not feel the financial constraints as much as others, alumni that may have given in previous years, may not have the means to contribute in the coming years. Even the $25 and $100 donations that may seem insignificant as one-off add up to millions of dollars in revenue each year.

In these challenging times, you need a marketing partner that is up to the challenge — Incite Creative.

Our education clients have included:

Create Content to Reposition Your Brand

All of the above factors impact how an educational institution should brand and position itself.

For instance, a smaller school that prided itself on an intimate learning environment now forced into a virtual setting has to reinvent itself. And previous fundraising efforts that promoted athletic field improvements or new programs that inspired donations may not pull in the same dollars as they once did.

At Incite Creative, brand positioning is at the core of what we do. We tap into the heads and hearts of your target audience(s) and work with our clients to create marketing campaigns that are authentic and actionable.

It’s time to take stock of what makes your campus special. Think of the traditions, campus experiences, and programs that make you who you are. We then work with you to bring these to life in a new way and through the distribution channels that will be seen and heard. It may be via social media platforms, videos, user-generated content, or even good old fashioned direct mail. Once we get to know you and your target audience(s), we can help you get the most out of your marketing efforts.

We also share our valuable experiences and resources, including consultants in a wide variety of industries, including expense reduction, human resources, and technology, to name a few.

Learning Management Solutions

In the education space, it’s all about helping students reach their full potential.

Having the right Learning Management Solution (LMS) makes it easy to put your learners first with deeply personalized experiences that allow them to study at their own pace and on their terms. They need accessibility that is also secure as they collaborate with teachers and classmates. Whether your students are learning their ABCs or earning their doctorate, having the right LMS in place will help keep them engaged. In turn, your institution will continue to thrive.

As marketing advisors, technology is part of the program. We’ll help you assess your needs and get you connected with the right dashboard.

What Types of Educational Institutions Can Benefit from Marketing?

For over 30 years, we’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of educational institutions. In terms of higher education marketing, we’ve worked with the University of Maryland School of Law and Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. We have also worked with trade schools, including The Independent Electrical Contractors Association of the Chesapeake. For many students, IECC’s electrical apprenticeship programs are an excellent alternative to a traditional college. We’ve helped the association brand itself in a way that reduces some of the stigmas associated with trade degrees. Additionally, we have a unique niche in helping special needs schools and organizations, particularly those that serve children on the autism spectrum. The Children’s Guild, Monarch Academy, and The Shafer Center have great programs that have helped many children and their families. Our work with educational institutions has run the gamut from application forms and brochures to full-blown strategic marketing plans, websites, and social media campaigns. With more and more online learning programs hitting the street each day, our digital marketing and content creation expertise has helped our clients differentiate themselves. Prospective students can find them, even when they aren’t quite sure what they’re looking for. But it all starts with a solid marketing plan — who are you, what do you do, for whom, what makes you unique, and how can you prove it — these are the foundation questions we help our education clients identify, articulate, and promote. We know the aftermath of COVID-19 has been a tremendous obstacle for educational institutions. But we’re here to help you weather the storm and get students the education they need to keep the cycle of learning alive and well. When you’re ready to get started, start with Incite Creative.

It has been my pleasure to work with the Incite Creative team. Their thoughtfulness in understanding our business and their creativity in providing strategy and materials make them the best at what they do. They have helped us develop a website, marketing materials, and a detailed plan for social media. All of this has increased our presence in the community which enables us to fulfill our mission to help children with autism.
